My Mum took me to see Bambi and I cried my eyes out when the Mother deer died. Apparantly really loudly. So loudly she was embarassed by me, lol

Re: First Theater Experience

I dont remember. To be honest, I dont think theres much about the dad in it. But I know the mother dying is one of the saddest moments in all disney films.

It had a Wuzzles cartoon at the begining too, if anyone remembers them. I loved it when they showed a short cartoon as well as the film, but noone really does it anymore.

I think some Disney Pixar cartoons are starting to do this again.

I remember the Incredibles had a short cartoon in front of it when we saw it in the theater in the USA.

I agree it's a good trend that should never have gone away.

I was 5. Saw the Star Wars with my Dad, all I remember is the cantina scene. And I remained unmolested.

Re: First Theater Experience

To elaborate on my first theater adventure I remember it quite vividly.

I was very young at the time (I don’t remember exact age) but I remember my parents telling me weeks in advance they were taking me to see the He-Man movie. I remember marking it on some calendar I had and reminding them daily until it happened. I must have been a pest when I was a kid.

Walking into the theater I can recall the smell of hot dogs, pop corn, and BO (yuck) in the air. It was one of those old time theaters with the upper balcony people could sit in and the grand curtains blocking the screen until the movie started.

I can picture the chandelier it had overhead at the theater as well as I can remember thinking to myself that this place was really fancy. (Well it was for a small boy)

Throughout the movie I can remember not losing attention once which was rare for me and discussing it constantly on the way home.

I am kind of disappointed that movie theaters have really lost that old appeal now.

It’s a damn shame that watching a DVD at home is more enjoyable then sitting in a Cineplex for me.
