K-Fed vs. Britney: Let the war begin

Quote:
Britney Spears might be in for a bumpy ride this month. And it's already been quite a week.

A source told E! News Wednesday that Kevin Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, hit up Los Angeles Superior Court to file K-Fed's request for "primary physical custody of his two children with Britney Spears." Because the papers were filed in family court, they are technically under seal.

A judge signed off on the Chaotic couple's divorce on July 30, with sources saying that they had agreed to continue sharing joint custody of 22-month-old Sean Preston and 10-month-old Jayden James and Federline receiving $15,000 a month in child support from Spears.

At the time, however, sources told E! News that Federline was reluctant to agree to the previous custody arrangement amid reports of Spears' increasingly odd behavior and continued party-hearty ways.

And his concerns didn't even take into account all that Spears has been up to in the past few days.

When she wasn't busy roughing up a parked car, hiring new representation or playing Truth or Dare with a handful of barely legals, the comeback-minded kid took time out Tuesday to work on the music video for her upcoming album.

A dark-haired Spears, clad in leather short-shorts and a lacey see-through blouse—over a leopard-print camisole, natch—and surrounded by bodyguards, was photographed en route to the shoot, which took place in Venice, California.

The day before the "Toxic" pop star got down to business, however, she accidentally steered her Mercedes into a silver station wagon in the parking lot of a Studio City strip mall. After reportedly announcing, "I'm a brainiac!" to the ever-present paparazzi, Spears got out of her car to check the damage, which was minor…and then reportedly left without leaving a note or trying to find the owner.

When contacted later by several media outlets, the unidentified woman whose car was on the receiving end of the smashup said that she hoped Spears would take responsibility for the accident, but that she hadn't yet heard from the singer.

Meanwhile, someone who is reportedly hearing from the singer is Kelly Clarkson's ex-manager, Jeff Kwatinetz, of the Los Angeles-based outfit the Firm.

Reports are swirling that Spears has been added to Kwatinetz's client roster, but a rep from his office told E! Online Tuesday to "feel free to direct all questions about that fiasco to [Britney's] label." Spears' longtime label, Jive Records, did not immediately respond to a call seeking comment.

Spears parted ways recently with manager Larry Rudolph and public relations powerhouse BWRand gave personal assistant Shannon Funk the boot last month, three weeks after hiring her.

On a personal note, Us Weekly is reporting that Spears partied atop L.A.'s Standard Downtown hotel recently with a 21-year-old extra from the aforementioned music video, during which she encouraged everyone in attendance to play topless Truth or Dare. All of this according to college student Matt Encinias, who claims that he shared a smooch with Spears and that the divorced mother of two was the first to lose the shirt off her back.

So who do you think should get custody?

I think K-Fed should.

I think Brad and Angelina should. Aren't they in the market for a few more?

Re: K-Fed vs. Britney: Let the war begin

I guess the other thing to look at is, although Britney is clearly not suited for motherhood, or at the very least, not at this time, she does have enough money to provide the child with the proper care, as in a nanny / caretaker to help her out. It will be interesting if that is brought up in court. Would the court give custody to her provided she had this extra help... opposed to giving it to K-Fed... Inquiring minds want to know.
