After getting the okay from executive producer Damon Lindelof via a backstage phone call, McPherson announced Harold Perrineau will be returning to the show as Michael.
While Malcom David Kelley made a fantastically creepy cameo as Walt in the mind-blowing Season 3 finale, Michael has been MIA since the end of the second season when he sailed off with Walt after striking a deal with The Others, which included killing Ana-Lucia (Michelle Rodriguez) and Libby (Cynthia Watros).
Rumor has it an even bigger announcement is to come from this weekend’s Comic-Con in San Diego, so stay tuned.
I knew this was coming but wasn't sure when they were bringing him back.
It makes sense with the images from the finale and Walt showing up.

No doubt. He had to be coming back. I figured he would be the one to help rescue them in the final episode though.
Interesting to see how the Lost Gang recieve him considering the messed up shit he has done.

This is good news. Although, hopefully Walt won't be coming back with Michael. I don't need to hear Michael screeching in every episode: "WAAAAALLLLLTTT!!!!!!!!"
Maybe Michael will grow a pair now and take on a new type of identity within the group.
