Timbaland has reportedly said that he is ready to quit the music industry and name a successor.
The superproducer, who has masterminded hits by Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado and released a solo album earlier this year, said in a recent interview that he is "about to throw in the towel" because he is bored with the current state of affairs in the music industry.
"Music is boring right now. I'm too innovative for the world,"

Not sure if this interests anyone, but I just thought it was a little weird saying he's been one of the biggest names in the music scene this year. A few of my "musically challenged" friends have been pretty big into him. Would be a big loss to that whole hip-hop-bibbity-bop scene I'd say.
Could be just attention seeking I guess. Eminem did it too I believe?

he's got some good beats but it won't be anything if he retired. supposedly he made a ton of money off the nelly furtado song and the ones he did for timberlake

You guys aren't giving him enough credit. His beats right now are saving the rap and r&b game. Sure you have Just Blaze and a few others out there but he's as good as it gets..
I can't deal with him whining about the industry though. Who cares? Just keep doing your thing.
He never said he was going to retire either. He was going to put his OWN music on hold, to produce and shit. Tabloids took that, switched it around, put that shit in a blender, set it to puree, and what came out was pure shit, AKA, "Eminem to retire!"
