I love the old school cartoons. I do enjoy the new ones like Family Guy, though. Never been a huge fan of the Simpsons, and I don't think American Dad is funny at all.
| And now, here it is...your moment of Carlin (10/13/2008) Anything but the Present America has no now. We're reluctant to acknowledge the present. It's too embarrassing. Instead, we reach into the past. Our culture is composed of sequels, reruns, remakes, revivals, reissues, rereleases, re-creations, reenactments, adaptations, anniversaries, memorabilia, oldies radio, and nostalgia record collections. World War II has been refought on television so many times, the Germans and Japanese are now drawing residuals. Of course, being essentially out of shit, we sometiems feel the need to dress up this past preoccupation, as with pathetic references to reruns as "encore presentations". | ||

I had forgotten all about this one until a huge cartoon discusion took place at work the other day. And Bananaman. I did like Denver the Last Dinosaur and Alvin and the chipmunks in my day although for modern cartoons, Family Guy wins hands down.

They type of humor was ok for awhile, but after awhile the writing of manatees gets old... Which leads into my fav. South Park. I'm also a big fan of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Old skool He-Man, and old TMNT

I use to so look forward to watching his run of shows from like 10-2 on cartoon network on days I was sick. Alvin and the Chipmunks is classic. I loved Recess that disney channel show! Also Rugrats and Doug were great shows. There's lots more to avoid further being looked at as "the weird cartoon dude", I will stop. |
