I am going to do a weekly news and notes thread regarding anything and everything in US television. Often times I see something that is easily worth a bullet note but not a whole thread, so this week I will start a hopefully weekly column covering all sorts of TV shows.
These will be mainly previews and news. Each week I will try to feature news and notes from a few different shows each week. You may get a little spoiled with say appearances, speculation or rumors, but if it’s major I will use the spoiler tags.
Let me know what you think and I will do this every week if the feedback is positive enough.

Well it looks like the fans will get the bloodbath they have been calling for the past few seasons. Christopher debuted his slasher film and there were obvious overtones of his deep lying hatred for the Boss, Tony Soprano. Now the obvious questions linger. Will Christopher whack Tony? Will Phil whack Christopher before he gets a chance? How many bodies will pile up with only 5 more episodes left. The boys hit up Atlantic City this week for a little R&R. Why do I feel that there wont be much relaxing going on? The war between New York and New Jersey looks to be coming to a front with only a few episodes left. Should be good………let’s hope.

Jack saves the day again. Shocker. Don’t get me wrong. I love 24 as much as the next guy as was a real early supporter of the show, but one thing I really don’t like about the show is how quickly the forget something fairly major that happened less than 5 or 7 hours ago. Last time I checked, having a 3/4 inch drill bit drilled into your shoulder blade would most likely cause major trauma and distress. Not for Morris. He is having a jolly good time because the country needs him. Chloe actually told him to quite whining about his injury 1 hour after it happened. Ok, honey. Chill, I have a big ass hole in my back. Or how Doyle (Rick Schroeder) interrogated Nadia and was getting friendly tactical advice from her just hours later. Don’t even get me started on the “evil President” angle…
But last week Jack just finds out that Audrey Raines is still alive. I might add that her show “The Nine” was never picked back up after a hiatus, so she looks like a 24 keeper. Now he has to save her from the Chinese that have been up Jacks ass since Season 4. Its nice to see that they could have dragged out killing Fayed and getting the nukes but this was a really pleasant twist as many people enjoy seeing Jack and Audrey together as she seems to be the only one that makes him feel sane.
One more thing I have noticed about 24. Maybe some of you have too. They often refer to all countries on 24 as legitimate places. Like Russia, London, China…. but whenever they refer to Terrorists, its always inferred their country and never said. They consistently say “Your people need to be stopped Mr. Ambassador” or “We are going to end up in a war with their country”. Careful, wouldn’t want to upset anyone in the Middle East Jack.

Are there any potential Grammy winners in this group like Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson? Maybe, not likely though. I have felt all season long that there really hasn’t been anyone that had that wow factor like I thought Chris Daughtry or Katherine McPhee had. I do see a future for a few of them though. Jordin Sparks is extremely talented for a 17 year old as well as the extremely original beat boxer Blake Lewis. The rest just don’t seem to do it for me.
We all know Sanjaya isn’t going home this week no matter how many shots Simon Cowell takes at him. You can see Simon is extremely annoyed that he is still on the show and even Sanjaya seems to be a little embarrassed out there at times. Look for the American Idol voting process to change to “just vote for who you want to eliminate” next year instead of who you want to win. American Idol also features their two-day “Idol Gives Back” next week. 30Rock (the most underrated show on TV) will feature guest star Sean Hayes, better known as Jack from Will&Grace for their season finale.
I watch way too much TV and I really enjoy talking about it, so this should work out nicely. Although I probably shouldn’t have started this right as all these Season Finales are coming out. I can see the summer weeks to be a little lackluster due to basically just baseball and Big Brother being on. I will hopefully have a lot more next week depending on the response from the debut issue.

Yeah, it took me a while to do this whole writeup, and I was a tad scorned. Perhaps I will try NOT sticking it this week. That seems to kill threads at Monks for some reason.
