Stradlin plays with G 'n' R on Stage

Guns N'Roses' singer Axl Rose was reunited with estranged guitarist Izzy Stradlin at Download Festival's close on June 11.

Midway through the set, according to NME.com, Rose introduced original member Stradlin for three songs, 'Patience', 'Night Train' and 'I Used To Love Her'. It was only Stradlin's second show back with the band in over a decade, following a shock appearance in New York last month.

But that was not the only surprise instore; for 'My Michelle', the band were joined by former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach.

Guns N'Roses took the stage half an hour early, but Rose easily made up the time in a series of sensational walk-offs.

After slipping over during 'Sweet Child O'Mine', Rose annnounced that the band were experiencing "technical difficulties" and left the stage for five minutes while a guitarist played an instrumental version of 'Don't Cry'.

The singer had already abandoned the show once before, leaving the crowd with an instrumental version of Christina Aguilera's hit 'Beautiful'. And he threatened to leave the stage after 'Better' if the crowd persisted in throwing bottles. However, they did get to air 'new' songs 'Better', 'The Blues', 'IRS' and 'Madagascar'.

I'm guessing Daren exaggerated how good the concert he saw was if they got bottles threw at them. Still, pretty good to hear Stradlin made an appearence. Wonder if there will be more "Special" guests in the future...Unfortunately I don't see the guests all Guns N Roses fans want to see returning doing it anytime soon.

they didnt throw bottles at mine, and their not walk offs, their called solos they do it at every concert to give the guys a break from constant playing. izzy wasnt at dl ireland but we got sebastian bach :rock: they did beautiful also and the odd thing was every one knew the lyrics

I know there are breaks where one member remains and just solos etc and I personally agree with you there. I know vocalists need breaks as do others at times in the show but you only do it so often. That and the fact in the new Guns N Roses if you're gona go and see them you're really going to see Axl so people would be expected to be disappointed when he went off. But I agree with you, perhaps people just want to see the new band fail ie throwing the bottles or perhaps they just go to hear the old songs not the new ones.

How can you say it wasn't that good, It was guns 'n' frickin' roses for christ sake, and, there was a lot of bottles being thrown all weekend, not just at G'N'R, so do not judge until you get the whole story.
