Rep Power: 41 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Prison Break Season 3 Discussion Thread *Admin Edit* This thread is for all Prison Break Discussion, You should be up to date or willing to be spoiled to participate in this thread* So, as usual, I've caught on late to a show I really really like (just like Sopranos, 24, Lost, etc.), and as much as I like this show, there's one thing that really really really bothers me. So often, they do something that's supposed to make the show so ridiculously dramatic, but it ends up either being ridiculously unbelievable, or it seems like they're taking the "easy way out" Example 1 - Michael tells Sucre he needs to work at night, and he'll just dig while his cellmate his sleeping. Last scene of the episode, Haywire tells Michael "I don't sleep...EVER". That is SO fucking corny. Example 2 - The ease with which they kill off characters. LJ's parents, Nick Savrinn, Veronica Donovan, John Abruzzi, Governor Tencreddy, the President. This is stupid for several reasons. First off, with each character they kill off, the shock value lessens. Secondly, it simply isnt realistic. So, there's this "company" that controls the entire country, and they kill people left and right, yet they couldn't get Lincoln killed? Either through the death penalty or have him murdered in prison? They can make a flawless videotape of a murder that never happened, but they can't track down Michael and Lincoln now? It's retarded. Also, some of these characters could actually become useful in future seasons of the show. Like, let's say they are trying to come up with a plot for season 3, and they come up with something and they say "This would be PERFECT for John Abruzzi...oh wait...we hastily killed him in season 2" I just got to the episode where the FBI guy kills Tweener at the end. I just threw my hands up in the air and said "This is fucking retarded!" This show will never grip me like 24 does. Partially because none of the characters on the show are nearly as cool as Jack Bauer, but also because of these stupid plot devices

The action. I think the action sequences reek of early 90's Van Damme. B-Action films. If I'm watching an action/adventure I need the scenes to grip me more then that, like hold on to your seat type shit. I think these scenes are pretty weak.

It's a TV show after all and has to have some level of unbelieveability. I don't think you are meant to look at every aspect of the show and judge whether that could happen in real life. The only question for me was at the end of the episode if you were entertained and the characters brought you into the show. As for the ease in killing characters, you love 24 and yet they killed just as many characters if not more than Prison Break last season. Prison Break is more of a character piece with action sprinkled in than anything else. You are left wondering why certain characters did things and what their "hidden" agendas are. If you are looking for popcorn action that doesn't require much thinking Blade than this show obviously won't grip you. Again these are just my observations. Nice to see you posting in here Tom. You should do so more often, I enjoy hearing your feelings on shows.

Rep Power: 41 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | yeah, but the fact that it's a smart show and they occasionbally revert to the convenient plot twist is what frustrates me the most. Like, I'm sitting on the edge of my seat for 59 minutes and then they end the episode with "and I don't sleep...EVER". C'mon... And, for the record, I thought last season of 24 was the worst one, by far. And I thought only two of the character deaths, Palmer and Edga, were effective. Palmer, because it came out of nowhere 5 minutes into the season, and Edgar, because it was so dramatic and well done. It seems like on Prison Break, they are killing off characters just for the sake of killing people off. Thats the easy way out. You need a dramatic moment, kill somebody. You can't tell me the people who were clever enough to come up with a show like this can't come up with more creative ways to create drama and establish villains. It reminds me of the show Oz. In the first season or two, the killings were few and far between, and it made each one a big deal. By the time the last season came around, three people were getting killed each episode. You get kinda dulled by it. These complaints arent enough to make me stop watching the show, but it's frustrating because I know the writers have more in them, without having to revert to the "easy way out"

Like Lincoln has this big long history with that lawyer girl (cant remember her name right now) and Linc cries for the last two minutes of one episode and then poof. No mention of her ever again. Just silly. Also.........on another note. Does Michael ever realize how many people he has gotten killed trying to save his brother? All in all the show is pretty damn cool, but can't even hold Jack Bauers dick while he is pissing.

Rep Power: 14 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Prison Break season finale (Possible Spoilers) Just seen the last episode and OMG !!! whats going on lol . Yes it was a bit different from Season 1 Finale and a bit confusing but still great . Im really looking forward to see how Scofield , Mahone , T Bag and probley Bellick cope of being in the prison together . t will be incredibly interesting to see how the forthcoming escape unfolds. Lincoln, Sara, and Sucre on the outside will most likely end up working together to help Scofield try to escape. At the very least, they should serve as inspiration to motivate Scofield to break out of his new prison. Other major events in the seaon finale were the death of Killerman . I think hes not dead because off screen deaths have always had suprises . and finnaly the mystery about Scofield , this is crazy is he a mutant ?? lol hes a exprement or something lol great season finale . Cant wait for next season and them back were the belong in the prison through to break out .,

The last few episodes of this season seemed to be all over the place and then the finale took it a 360 turn and put the locale back in prison. I understand what they were trying to do but the whole "Who framed Lincoln" plot seems to be something completely different than what was first thought. It is thought provoking and frustrating at the same time. Either way I'll keep watching.
