CBS has canceled its Stanley Tucci medical drama "3 Lbs." after three low-rated airings.

The show most recently drew 8 million viewers.

It marks the second new CBS drama to crash in the Tuesday 10 p.m. slot this fall, following the Ray Liotta crime saga "Smith."

This new season is harsh to new shows.

A lot of new shows haven't been given a chance to find an audience and in return we're missing out on what could have been a lot of good entertainment.

Yeah, the networks never even give new shows a chance. Did you know that Cheers was one of the lowest-rated shows its first season, and then ended up becoming one of the most popular shows ever. With one of the best theme songs ever:

Wait, 8 million viewers isn't enough for them?

I agree, they don't give shows a chance anymore. Both Cheers and Seinfeld (two of the biggest shows of all time) both ended their first seasons near the bottom of the ratings.
