I think I wouldn't mind renting it, but it's not my type of movie.

Saw it, and I may say it's mighty fun. Don't go in expecting great special effects or great acting. This is a B movie and the film relishes in knowing that it's a B movie. Besides, Samuel L. Jackson has the line of the century.

I hate this movie and refuse to see it.
The line that the Dude mentioned was a line somebody on some message board said should be in the movie, the movie makers figured good idea, so they went back and reshot part of the movie to put that line in. Just a waste of a movie in my opinion. Sadly it'll probably do better then the WTC movie, doesnt say much for either movie or the people going to see movies.
I'll be spending my money on The Illusionist.

Actually they went back and shot not only that line, but a bunch of gore and much more violent attack scenes. The film was originally going to be PG-13, but New Line went back for reshoots in order to live up to the expectations of the fans.
Classy move for a studio. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

That's why the movie is getting so much praise. They did everything that everyone in the IC wanted and/or expected to see.. it's "The internet's film" of sorts..
Personally I love the whole concept, even if the movie is just supposed to be a big joke, it's still fun IMO.
Plus, WTC? Eh.. still too early I think for movies about 9/11. I don't want to go to the theatre and relive that horror, they'll be plenty of time to look back on it over the next 50 years, etc..
SOAP > most
P.S. I heard it did $50M over the weekend.. truth?
It only did $13.8 million($15.25 million with the Thursday night previews). It was #1 or #2 depending on if you include the $1.5 million from Thursday night.

Yeah, but $15 million ain't half bad considering all the hype was internet hype. Not to mention the film only cost $33 million to make, so it should make its money back easily.

I read today it was considered a dissapointment by the studio, it was expected to do $20 million easy the first weekend landing around mid to low $20million mark and $15 million? Thats terrible, it only just hardly beat Talladega nights which has been out for 3 weeks already.
