Rep Power: 7 ![]() | Superman Returns *SPOILERS* I absolutely loved this movie. I went in knowing pretty much everything that happened, and I was still given an exciting film. Routh was great as Superman. I hate how reviewers are saying that he "mimics Christopher Reeve" and all that. Routh was a great Superman on his own and deserves his own recognition. Bosworth was a great Lois Lane. While many complain about her age, I feel she pulled off the job. She was very believable and I enjoyed her moments with the Man of Steel. My only problem was the way the character was around Clark. In the Donner films, she comes off like she's rejecting him as a potential suitor, but still a good friend. But in this film she seemed to be more emotionally distant to him than ever. What can't be said about Kevin Spacy's performance? The man simply was Lex Luthor. He took what I loved about Gene Hackman's rendition of the character, and made him more dark and more sinister at the same time. How sick do you have to be to connive an old, dying woman into giving you everything? And, wow. The ending was a bit of a shock. I thought Jason being Superman's son would only be hinted at, but we're told straight up that they are indeed father and son. The scene at the end where he gives Jason the same speech that Jor-El gave him was tear jerking. Course, being a man my balls were too big to actually cry. I loved how Singer balanced the action and the romance of the film. Those going in for a mindless action film will be disappointed. This film has heart and soul (something that was seriously lacking in Superman III and IV) to go with the action, to give the movie some depth. And you gotta love that John Williams "Hero" theme. I smile every time I hear it. I can't wait to see this again, which I'm sure I will this weekend. Grade: A So what are you waiting for? Get off your butts and see this movie! ![]()
| When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the country not enter the city. For this is the time of punishment in fullfillment of all that has been written. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. They will fall by the sword and be taken as prisoners to all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. ...At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near. Luke 21:20-28 | ||

I know nothing about Superman really. The only thing I know about it I learned on the t.v. show Smallville. I liked that show.

Rep Power: 15 ![]() | Same here. I'm sure it's a good movie, i'm just not that interested in it since I am not a big Superman fan. |

There's an image in front of Eddie Brock (Topher Grace) going "Parker?!" that just looked exactly like that character. This is def going to be the best of the three films. Sorry for being off topic....carry on.

Rep Power: 7 ![]() | And don't forget when Jason sees an image of Superman on TV and then looks at Clark, has shock on his face and then sucks on his inhaler. ;) It's not like Clark has never been suspected of being Superman before. Lois suspected it at the end of Superman I and found out in Superman II (but he made her forget it). Quote:
