They've been running the promo for this flick and it opens up January 6th against the release of Underworld 2. I know it's based the game, just wanted to know if anyone was planning on checking it out. I'm a huge vampire flick person so I'm gonna go see it.

In 18th century Romania, Rayne (a girl with a human mother and vampire father) possesses superhuman strength but a soft side for humans. She decides to find her vampire father who is the powerful vampire Kagan. On her journey, she is befriended by two vampire hunters and learns that there are three Talisman organs -- a heart, an eye and a rib from her ancestor vampire, Beliar -- which Kagan covets, that will make him so powerful that he will throw the earth into darkness and vampires will rule forever.

The movie is directed by Uwe Boll, director of such "classics" as "House of the Dead" and "Alone in the Dark." That's enough for me to avoid it at all costs.

LOL, I saw House of The Dead, wasn't bad but didn't do the game justice. As for Alone In The Dark, yeah that sucked.

The only reason to see this film is that the chick from Terminator 3 is in it.

Otherwise this looks like another disaster.

I will not be seeing it, and i'll give you two words why: Uwe Boll. This guy butchers every singles video game license he is given, he is the one responsible for the horrible House Of The Dead and Alone In The Dark movies. I don't understand why video game companies continue to give him the movie rights, he also has the movie rights to: Hunter The Reckoning, Far Cry, Postal, and Fear Effect. I will wait for the reviews but I don't have high hopes for this since Uwe Boll is the director.

Ben Kingsley was in Thunderbirds. He doesn't seem very selective on his roles as of late.

Otherwise I agree he's one of the best actors around.

For some reason after House, Boll has been able to get name actors in his pictures (Christian Slater, Tera Reid, Kingsley, Rodriguez). There's still no chance this picture can be good, IMO. A good/decent actor can still act out horrible scenes with horrible dialogue horribly.

Agreed, but Uwe has yet to do one thing Wood did: make a movie that was so bad it was good (see Plan 9 from Outer Space).
