The biggest movie

Titanics domestic gross was $600,788,188. The next closest to that was Star Wars that got $460,998,007.

Nothing has even came close to the succes that Titanic had

Do you think there will ever be a movie that makes more money?

when?

what kind of movie will it be?

I think it's going to be a while before something tops Titanic. Titanic was a fluke, a freak of nature. It was able to get such a large box office intake because of the fact that teenage girls went and saw it over and over again. Variety was saying that King Kong will do it, but I severely doubt that. As good as Kong is gonna be and as much money as it'll make, I don't see it making $600 million.

It should be noted that Star Wars' gross of $460 million adds in all of the re-releases as well. In it's initial run it made about $200 and fiftyish million.

When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the country not enter the city. For this is the time of punishment in fullfillment of all that has been written. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. They will fall by the sword and be taken as prisoners to all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
...At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.

Well, the thing is that those box office numbers don't take inflation into account. For instance, a movie ticket now costs about twice as much (maybe more) as it did when the first Sar Wars or ET came out. I found a website once which converted everything to today's dollars, and I think Gone With the Wind was actually the highest grossing film of all time. Titanic was up there though

Ah...interesting that Gone With the Wind would have grossed over a billion dollars with today's ticket prices

A movie would also have to be in theatres for awhile, Titanic was in theatres for 9 months(12/97-09/98) while most movies are in theatres for 6 months max.

Visit and shop for video games at my Amazon-based store, also get discounted HD DVDs while they last.

How the hell did the Ten Commandments get to high up there? I had to watch that in religion and I wanted to end my own life.

Lucas kicking some ass there, of his movies. Spielberg seems to be close, though I'm not as familiar with his stuff.
