Your Favourite Sequels

I know we once did a thread about good sequels, but I was wondering what your top 5? In order:

1. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back/Return of the Jedi - On the list for obvious reasons. Their pure awesomeness.

2. Lion King II: Simba's Pride - This is such a good movie. I think I might actually like it better than the first. Highly recomended if you're into Disney movies... which you're probably not.

3. D2: The Mighty Ducks - Better than the first. I love this movie. Note I did not include the disgrace that was D3.

4. Harry Potter Series: I guess all of them are sequels of the first one. They just keep getting better!

5. Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason - Pretty funny, not as a good as the first, but still good.

Home Alone 2 is almost as good as the first one.

Flying High 2 is hilarious.

Ditto Pinkster for the Harry Potter stuff (second one did have the advantage that it could hardly be worse).

I'd also throw the bloody obvious Godfather 2 into the mix.

They will all pale into insignificance once the mighty David Arquette hits us with "Ready to Rumble 2 - Russo's Revenge".

1. Brunch:- The sequel to Breakfast.
2. Sex:- The sequel to a hot date.
3. 8th Pint of Stella:- The real classic in the series unfortunatly the morning after was a little poor.
4. Pay Day:- The first four days suck but the silver lining is the final one.
5. The sequel to this post is bound to be intresting.
I had a sig, once.

Blues Brothers 2000 is a good follow up to the original but without Belushi it was never going to be huge.

Going to throw Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers in there as well.

I agree with Pink's D2 call. Easily the best of the trilogy.

Although i disagree with the Lion King call. Nothing tops the original and if anything did, Lion King: Hakuna Matata would be a lot closer than the snoozefest that was Simba's Pride
I wish my sex life was like ECW, first you get a One Night Stand followed by 2 months of nostalgic orgasms and then 6 months of constant sucking.

This is so frikkin sad that I (a) know what you are talking about and (b) agree.

If I wasn't so well hung already I'd hang myself.

I'm not going to include Star Wars or Lord of the Rings, because it's all truly one big story.

I'm gonna say one that hasn't (surprisingly) been mentioned: The Godfather, part II. Most sequels are just fun and don't match up quite as well to the original, but this film surpasses the original.
When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the country not enter the city. For this is the time of punishment in fullfillment of all that has been written. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. They will fall by the sword and be taken as prisoners to all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
...At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.
Luke 21:20-28

The Dude, Bulldog actually did mention The Godfather Part II.

I hate to say this, but I thought Return Of The Jedi was pretty bad compared to A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back.

Home Alone 2: Lost In New York was better than the original IMO, Toy Story 2 was good. I also enjoyed Star Trek: First Contact. Most people don't seem to like it but I enjoyed Blues Brothers 2000.
