The list even does go on and on but it's late and I forget. Fact is, if you think TOM CRUISE plays the widest range of roles in Hollywood, you're fucked.

And when you say "he's the only effing actor who has made it big, this side of the 1970's who actually realizes how important it is to surround yourself with a good director, good script, other good actors, technicians, producers, etc.", why are you being so hard on a guy like Tom Hanks, who has done the same thing, only successfully?
Its funny you mention Depp cause he's actually my favorite actor. I probably should have have inserted an "arguably" in my initial post cause they are several actors you could say have played the most diverse set of roles in their career. Tom Hanks, Johnny Depp, Pacino (before he stopped acting and just yelled in all his films). I only posted this topic cause a buddy was giving me a hard time over the fact that I bought War of the Worlds DVD, it was not my intention to push Tom Cruise as the greatest actor of the history of the world on anyone.lol

Anyone who's seen that recent South Park episode where Cruise and Travolta lock themselves in a closet will know that Cruise opens himself up to a lot of this mocking but for the what actually matters, his contributions in movies, he is in my opinion one of the best.

The best part was at the end when R. Kelly, Cruise, and Travolta come outside and you see R. Kelly with a horrified look on his face as if something truly terrible happened to him after being locked in that closet with those two.lol

Best South Park since the Morman episode a while back.

Tom Cruise is a great medicore actor.

I can watch movies with him in it, I wouldn't say that he's horrible because he's passable, but he's nowhere near greatness at all.

Your opinion is irelevant seeing as your still angry at the Cruise for stealing your favorite actor's woman.

You obviously underestimate the man's power and fail to realize what he is truly capable of. If you saw the Last Samurai, you would realize that not only didn't he die in the climatic battle against overwhelming Japanese imperial forces, but there was some closing subtitle that said he married the girl, had kids, cured polio and started a kickass barbershop quartet.

I liked that one with Jamie Foxx where Cruise was all bad ass and played the piano, all blind no less.
