Rep Power: 10 ![]() | Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Origin Yes, they are making a prequel. Here is the plot summary and the full length article can be found on: http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/668/668481p1.html Origin takes place just three years before the events of the first film, featuring a new cast list of potential victims that includes Jordanna Brewster, Taylor Handley, Matthew Bomer, Diora Baird, Lee Tergesen and Cyia Batten. All the members of that friendly ole' family, the Hewitts, return, including R. Lee Ermey as Sheriff Hoyt, Andrew Bryniarski as Leatherface, Marietta Marich as Momma Luda May and Terrence Evans as Old Uncle Monty. Set in 1969 during the heart of Vietnam, 18 year-old Dean Hill (Handley) is drafted. He heads out with his brother and fellow soldier, Eric (Bomer) on one last reprieve before going into service. They embark on a road trip across Texas along with girlfriends Bailey (Baird) and Chrissie (Brewster). They soon run into trouble when they cross paths with a biker, Holden (Tergesen) and his girlfriend Alex (Battan). An accident results and a Sheriff soon arrives on the scene. Those familiar with the franchise will immediately recognize this particular Sheriff, the maniacal Sheriff Hoyt (Ermey). As we all know, the group would probably have been better fending for themselves. They are taunted (and worse, but you get the idea). The rest are thrown into the Sheriff's car and taken to a house of horrors that will be instantly familiar to fans of the franchise. Within waits a young Thomas Hewitt, who will soon be groomed to become the monster we know as Leatherface. Though producers and cast were tight-lipped as to the specifics of Leatherface's back story contained within, they promised that the story would reveal some back story to the family's madness, that we would witness the historic first chainsaw kill and how Uncle Monte lost his legs. Finally, the story will reveal how the psychopathic Hoyt became Sheriff. Origin is directed by Jonathan Liebesman. Producers Andrew Form, Brad Fuller and Michael Bay return. ___________________________________ Now I saw the remake by Michael Bay and I got scared, but people who saw the original from Tobe Hooper said the 1st one was better. Dunno how this prequel will pan out. But give it the benefit of the doubt, if Bay is directing it, then it should be half-decent. | |

Rep Power: 15 ![]() | I don't know, I thought the re-make was horrible. So i'm a little worried since the same guy will be directing this. Maybe this one will be better though. |
