Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Smallville Discussion *SPOILERS* First of all I have to explain that although I watch Smallville almost every week, sometimes I have to admit is the cheesiest piece of television that isn't a soap opera. That being said, there are always several moments each season of absolute greatness that really add something to the whole Superman mythos. I keep watching for these moments from great actors like Michael Rosenbaum as Lex and John Glover as Lionel (as well as for the hot women). They really elevate the whole show when it degenerates into a Dawson's creek retread and keep me entertained. This season, with the addition of James (Spike from Buffy) Marsters and the whole Braniac storyline the whole series has really taken a great turn as now I can't be pulled away from the tv when its on. I think tonights episode "Splinter" was the best thing they've ever done. Great story, great acting and writing with the whole paranoid Clark scenario was terrific in the way it played out with Clark thinking everyone had turned against him. In my opinion the best episode of Smallville ever. Tonight Just when I was starting to think Tom Welling was completely wooden as an actor, he gives an amazing performance once his is infected with the silver kryptonite. Other thoughts from this Great episode... 1. James Marsters maintains his god like status as Milton Fine "I know who you are" "I know how to kill you" "I am Kryptonian" Finally Braniac reveals himself but to what purpose? 2. Chloe just being the greatest woman any hetero man could ever dream of "I would die before I ever betrayed you" Better not happen writers 3. Papa Lional dishing out the tough love to Lex "That is why Lana Lang will never love you" ouch 4. Ma and Pa Kent getting knocked the fuck out. Particularly Clark just unloading right in his mom's face. and Jonathen Kent's "Your just a thing I found in a cornfield" God I wish I taped this episode. Anyone else catch Smallville, good stuff? |

My thoughts are that he really isn't Kryptonian but something else... My guess: He is a supervillian just like the comics. Unless I missed something and Kal-El's dad really did torture people on this show?

I think the absortion of the silver Kryptonite at the end was a clue that he is not who he says he is. The again it could be just me. :erm2:

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | This season has been great, I'm loving how they are not turning Lex into a one note mustashe twirling villain but instead are showing his gradual progression into what he will eventually become. Lex has really become a sympathetic character in that he is all alone surrounded by enemies and his only friend Clark has chosen to abandon him. It all goes back to that great moment in the first season in an otherwise forgettable episode, the one with the fortune teller in the nursing home and she saw that vision of Lex's future with him in the white house wearing the white suit with his one hand in the black glove before being covered in red from the blood red sky and how at that point he was smiling, choosing to finally embrace his destiny. While I definitelly feel this show can and should last atleast another season or two we are rapidly reaching the point in the show where that vision becomes a reality. A lot of fun to watch. And I want to know what the insurance premiums are on the Kent's truck. Clark has totalled that thing atleast six times over the course of the series.lol |

From him exhibiting Kryptonian powers and killing Luthor's bodyguard in a previous episode....it looks like they're going for a completely new origin on the character.
