"Just Legal" Yanked From the WB

The new Don Johnson series "Just Legal" has been scrapped. Don't know what this series is all about? Not many people did apparently.

The WB has pulled the underperforming series from its Monday schedule, effective next week. And while the network isn't uttering the c-word -- cancellation -- the chances of the show returning are very slim. Production on the series has stopped after seven episodes, three of which aired.

An encore of the premiere of "Related" will air in its place Monday (Oct. 10), the network says. What fills the 9 p.m. timeslot after "7th Heaven" in the weeks after that has yet to be determined.
The Jerry Bruckheimer-produced "Just Legal" starred Don Johnson as a down-and-out defense lawyer working out of a shabby Venice Beach office who takes teenage legal savant Jay Baruchel under his wing. Its reviews were mixed, and it did a poor job of holding onto its lead-in audience.

In its three weeks, the show drew an average of only about 3.1 million viewers, losing about 40 percent of the audience from "7th Heaven." This time last season, "Everwood" was drawing close to 5.4 million people in the time period and holding onto better than three-fourths of its lead-in audience.

The show didn't sound that good to me and i'm not suprised it will be cancelled. At least it aired 3 episodes though, Head Cases got pulled after just 2 episodes.

Visit and shop for video games at my Amazon-based store, also get discounted HD DVDs while they last.

I don't quite get why they pull episodes. I understand that some shows just suck but if you already made a certain number of episodes wouldn't it be wise to air every episode? Who knows, maybe it will catch an audience by the end of it's run. Why pull the plug?

I would think that they could play around with the airing of the show, the schedule of it, until it runs its course.

Most network executive don't have any patience anymore, they uses to allow a show at least a season to catch on. Look at Cheers and Seinfeld, they finished last or close to last in their first season but ended up becoming two of the most popular shows ever.

I don't think I want to live in a world where Don Johnson's show is the first cancellation of the fall season while Freddy Prinze jr. somehow continues to find work.

It was matched up against Lost.

I have no idea what they were thinking but Lost pulled in 23 million viewers and "Head Cases" (Which is what they should have called the Producers for putting them in this time slot) did a little over 3 million viewers.

Of course they are going to yank it after that. lol
