I'm not sure what to make of this piece of news...
According to USA Today on Feb 26, 2006 IdaMAN's favorite monkey, Curious George, will be released on the big screen in an Animated Comedy.
Will Ferrell will be playing the man in the yellow hat who meets George in the jungle. The monkey, mistaking his hat for a banana, follows the man back into town and hijinks ensue.
Drew Barrymore is set to co-star as Will's girlfriend in the movie I would gather, but her part has not been officially named as of yet.
Prints of the trailer for this movie are said to be attached to the Wallace & Gromit movie coming out this Friday.

Spidey, my theater gets this magazine that reviews upcoming movies and has a chart of future released up to 1 year or often more in the future from all the major production companies. (they also have a large list of artsy/independent companies and movies and reviews of some that are currently showing.)
it's called Boxoffice
and I think you'd like it. every month I thumb thru it to see what new crap sequeals and remakes and other non creative movies will be coming out.

Yes it does sound interesting and i'd be willing to give it a look.
I read the daily trade papers in the morning before work. Also I look at Variety and USA Today.
If it interests me I post in here in the hopes of generating discussion.

I just thought of the magazine b/c I remembered seeing Curious George, and several other movies that you bring up, in there several months ago.
I was thinking, hey, Will Ferrell, well, that might be good... but I never liked the Curious George books so I don't know what to think on it.

I liked the Curious George books when I was younger and I vaguley remember the cartoon but I don't know if I will see the movie if it aimed at children.

TJ - I think this will be more than a kid's movie per say. I think it's aimed along the same line as Elf.
