Do you burn a pirate copy or even get a cheap one from overseas? Or do you go to the shops and pay full price for the genuine article?
I personally like to buy real thing, I can't explain why, i guess the quality is a hell of a lot better and i get a satisfaction out of having the real thing in my possession.

I like getting the special edition DVD's and have quite a good collection including the special Pulp Fiction, Ocean's Twelve & Team America.

I do both. It depend on what the movie is really. The overseas copies I have gotten so far are perfect and there is no way you could tell the difference. I also get screeners as well so the quality is also perfect with those. I also by second hand DVD's as well if I find something I like or a special edition that would cost me an arm and a leg otherwise.

I buy the real DVDs. Unless since I am a huge fan of Asian cinema and frequently import movies I get a bootleg from there. But I stick to sites known for not selling bootlegs so I don't think I do. I will download movies sometime to but for the most part I buy.
One thing in your post though unless you mean pirated overseas ones they are not always cheaper. Korea and Japan get a lot of really cool limited editions of American movies that can be fairly expensive sometime or around the same price but you get extra stuff.

I don't buy DVD's that often but when I do I get the real thing so I can be sure the quality is good.

I love next to a bookstore that sells them.There is no way to tell the difference unless someone told you. They are not some shitty copy you see on limeware or wotever. They are real dvds from the real movie.
