Rep Power: 61 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | "Rescue Me" Season 3 is Approved On the heels of its first two Emmy nominations, "Rescue Me" has earned another season on FX. The pickup comes despite the fact that ratings for the show, which stars Denis Leary as a damaged New York firefighter, have been flat this season. Production on the new batch of 13 episodes is scheduled to begin early next year, with a premiere date targeted for spring or early summer. "Once again, Denis and [co-creator Peter Tolan] have delivered a brilliant season," says John Landgraf, president and general manager of FX. "They continue to create wholly original storylines which pull off the difficult task of blending riveting drama with raucous comedy. We're extremely proud of this show, which is one of the very best television has to offer." Leary and Tolan are up for an Emmy Award next month for writing the show's pilot. Tolan is also nominated for his direction of the debut episode. "It's always great to get word that you've been picked up for another season," Leary says. "FX has been unbelievable to work with, and I'm happy for Peter and the cast. We're really hitting our stride." "Rescue Me" has averaged about 2.7 million viewers per week this summer, on par with what it delivered last year. About 1.7 million of those viewers are in the ad-friendly adults 18-49 demographic, which is off 12 percent from last season but still ranks in the top 10 for basic cable series. The series has four episodes remaining in the current season, with the finale scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 13.

Nip/Tuck premieres in September right after Rescue Me ends for the season so FX is providing fans with a lot of good TV right now.

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | I love this show! Just finished season one on DVD last week, and have been watching season 2 regularly. Not only is it full of hot chicks and great acting, it's the funniest goddamn show on TV. I bust a gut over all the crazy jibes and one-liners these guys, and gals, throw at each other every week. Some examples: on getting into the sexy fireman's calendar: "I swear getting in the calendar is like being able to mint pu$$y" "Mint pu$$y? Not one of Ben and Jerry's best flavors!" When his daughter's busted for a noise complaint: "You were dancing around in your underwear drinking beer?" "We got hot from all the dancing." "That's it, your lesbian thing is over!" Reading the label of his wife's stash of anti-depressants: "May cause excessive vaginal lubrication? Well, thank you God and science!" Each episode has atleast one line that will stick with you, glad for the pickup for a third year although I hear Diane Farr is leaving the show at the end of this year which isn't cool. |

Rep Power: 61 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I just watched the episode on Tuesday. I was going to post on this yesterday but was in class and it slipped my mind. I won't put any spoilers but needless to say the Season Finale next week just became must see TV for me thanks to this episode. If you are missing this show you are missing out on some great television.
