Elastigirl Expecting Twins at Age 47

Holly Hunter, the 47-year-old actress who gave voice to "The Incredibles" Elastigirl last year, is stretching to accomodate the new role of mother.
Her representative tells People magazine that Hunter and her partner, British actor Gordon MacDonald, are expecting twins this winter.

The couple met in November when they were costarring in a London production of Marina Carr's "By the Bog of Cats." Hunter played Hester Swayne, a woman who is abandoned by her lover (and the father of her child) after 14 years.

Although Hunter was married from 1995 to 2001 to cinematographer Janusz Kaminski, these are the first children for both.

Hope she's got loads of energy (still I suppose she's wealthy enough to have an army of childminders)

Isn't 47 an age that is dangerous to have a child at??

She's a great actress and I wish her and her partner a successful and healthy birth.

^^ Women have had children at older ages, however there is a greater risk of problems in this type of situation. I'm sure she'll be getting all the very best care though

I agree. It was just the first thought that came into my head though. She is a small lady too and i'm sure there is a potential for more problems there.

Have you heard of the father before Bulldog? He is a famous British actor from what i've read.

^^ He's certainly not at all famous over here. I read she met him when she came over to do theatre in London. I don't know if it's the same Stateside but most actors that perform regularly in stage and theatre over here, do very little in the way of TV and Film work. In short, I've never heard of the guy but if he's a theatre actor then I'm not surprised I haven't!

Yes it is sometimes similar here I believe. But some theater actors are folks that used to be on TV and decided to take their careers in a different direction.
