4 More Spider-Man Movies?

Sci-Fi Wires has a good interview with Spider-Man director Sam Rami up on their website.

In it he states they are looking to do 6 Spider-Man movies total and he may be interested in director the whole run.

Below is a snipit:
"I've heard Amy Pascal [chairman of Sony's motion picture group] say she wants to make six Spider-Man pictures," Raimi said in an interview at the Saturn Awards in Los Angeles. "So I think she's a woman of her word. And if she says there'll be six, there'll be six. ... If they were to ask me, and if I felt as passionate as I feel now about the character and had this great hunger and desire to tell the story, which I really do now, you couldn't keep me away from it."

My personal feelings are if they keep the same production team, and writing staff, as well as Rami, then these films will all be Blockbusters.

Who knows what the future brings but I can guarntee I will be right there in line on opening day for each picture.

They would most likely get someone else to play Spiderman though right?

I really want to see the day where Venom and Carnage come into the story..Those movies would kick ass no doubt.

Well I would imagine they want to show the natural progression of Peter Parker's life as these movies have been mainly character driven more than your basic superhero film. If that is true than they might stick with Tobey. But then again he has said he wouldn't be interested in continuing after part 3 so they may not have a choice.

So far I am hearing that Harry Osborn (Hobgoblin) & Sandman are the next two villians. Rami has said he picks these villians based on the stories so I imagine Venom and Carnage aren't too far off.

I would love to see the Vulture as well. Imagine someone like Patrick Stewart playing that role!

Hopefully this next one is a bit more different than the first 2. The first two seemed like clones of each other...

James Franco on Spider-Man 3
Source: Boston Herald
May 15, 2005

The Boston Herald caught up with James Franco, who plays Harry Osborn in the "Spider-Man" films, at the Cannes Film Festival:

As for "Spider-Man 3," which is expected to arrive in 2007, Franco said, "I've met with (director) Sam Raimi a few times and we're planning on filming in January. ... I thought the second one was better than the first, and I think this one will be better than both."

Wow, I consider the second Spidey film to be one of my favorite alltime movies. It was pretty much perfect, as far as I was concerned. One thing about S-2: every time I thought it was going to end I thought Raimi ended it well...then it kept going, and I was grateful...then when it ended on the note it did, I was ecstatic.

If Raimi helms the next 4 and they keep the principle actors then go for it. We still need to see Venom and Carnage of course, but if we miss out on Lizardman, Rhino, or Kraven I will be disappointed. Heh, I want to see Bruce Campbell as the Vulture!

I go do withough Sandman and Kraven since I never liked those two, but i'm agreement with other people in that i'm the 2 I most want to see are Venom and Carnage. Let's just hope they don't screw them up like they did with Catwoman and (IMHO) Kingin, the only problem I had with Kingpin was that they made him black even though the character isn't black.

Visit and shop for video games at my Amazon-based store, also get discounted HD DVDs while they last.

Venom will show up in one of these films I just don't think it will be part 3.

In my opinion from all the hints that have been shown, Sandman is the villian played by Thomas Haden Church. There have even been reports of boxes of Sand being shipped into the studio and Rami was quoted as saying they are using real effects combined with CGI, just like they did with Molina as Doc Ock.

As to making Harry the Hobgoblin....I will reserve judgement until I see the costume. So far I am not thrilled with the idea. They should just make him Green Goblin II as they did in the comic.

That hobgoblin deal is kind of touchy, but I think Raimi has demonstrated enough panache to give him the benefit of the doubt about how he is going to present it. I remember when the first one came out, a buddy of mine who considers himself a "purist" on these matters was livid at how the Green Goblin suit looked. All metal armor and that, he was pretty annoyed...until he saw the movie. He still had some misgivings about straying from the source so far, but even he admitted the way it was presented made it easier to accept.

I'm thinking that if there are going to be 4 more movies, Venom is going to show up in part 4...so I'm with you there Spidey, not in part 3. I would imagine Venom getting set up a little in 3, then being used fullblown for 4.

I really, really want Lizardman and Rhino to show up though. I'll be so disappointed if they don't appear at some point.
