The New MNF Broadcast Team in 2006

This was interesting news and a good choice to replace Madden on MNF in my opinion.

Quote:
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Al Michaels will remain in the booth when "Monday Night Football" moves to ESPN in 2006.

The cable sports network announced that in addition to retaining Michaels as play-by-play man, Michelle Tafoya will stick around prowling the sidelines.

Michaels will have to remind himself how to work without John Madden. This coming season will mark the duo's fourth season together on "MNF," but NBC already announced that Madden will join the network's Sunday night NFL coverage when it moves from ESPN in 2006.
Instead of the venerable Super Bowl-winning coach and video game legend, Michaels will be paired with Super Bowl-winning quarterback and broken leg legend Joe Theismann. The former Redskins star will move into the analyst role on "MNF" after working as part of ESPN's "Sunday Night Football" crew since 1988.

Teaming up with Tafoya on the sideline will be Suzy Kolber, currently doing similar duties on ESPN's Sunday coverage.

"'Monday Night Football' and ESPN are the two biggest game changers in our industry in the last 30 years, and we have assembled a talent and production team that will reflect that," says ESPN President George Bodenheimer. "This team is a true collaboration of ESPN and ABC Sports, and clearly demonstrates the strength and promise of what our company can deliver."

Michaels and Tafoya will remain with ABC Sports through Super Bowl XL in early 2006.
