Well, I didn't think they could make a sequel to
House of a 1,000 Corpses, but they did. Rob Zombie's newest masterpiece is called
The Devil's Rejects set for release July 22/05 from LGF.
Synopsis (courtesy of tribute.ca): Ambushed at their isolated home by Sheriff Wydell (William Forsythe) and a squad of armed men, the Firefly family wakes up one morning with guns blazing -- yet only Otis (Bill Moseley) and his sister, Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie), manage to escape the barrage of bullets unharmed. Hiding out in a backwater motel, the wanted siblings wait to rendez-vous with their errant father, Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig), killing whoever happens to stand in their way. But as the body count mounts higher, Sheriff Wydell decides to take the law into his own hands, paving the way for one of the most depraved and terrifying showdowns in cinematic history.

I saw the original House of a 1,000 Corpses and remember the controversy of releasing it, as it took lamost 2 years for a film company to pick it up and LGF did, due to the content and the fact that it did garner an NC-17 rating which then went down to an "R" rating after lots of editing. I can understand how The Texas Chainsaw Massacre inspired this film. As gory as it was, it went back to the old style horror classic of the "raving psychopath" with a high dose of violence.
I did get the s*** cared out of me watching Corpses and hopefully Rejects is just as good. From the trailers it has all the elements of violence and gore and horror all rolled into one. Should be interesting to see what the critics and other people say about the film.
The only downside is that as I was looking at the soundtracks for the movie, there are no new songs from Rob Zombie (dammit!).
