Don't know if anyone else has been watching this actually decent reality show but last night {or monday repeated last night on itv} finally held its grand finale at caesars pallace.
The final was between:

Sergio Mora "The Latin Snake"

And


Peter Manfredo Jnr


And this reality programme actually surprised me because it was good.
The boxing was good because they were all after something that could change their lives.
$1 Millon was the prize for the winner and last night the boxing was just like the other matches and hard hitting.
I'm not going to spoil it for anyone so i'm putting the winner in white for those who want to see it and those who don't won't have to see the winner.

So has anyone else been watching this or just a programme that has slipped past some people.

I watched it but the show has been canceled so this was the first and only season.

The Phantom

That's a shame, In my opinion it was one of the better reality shows. I thought it would have been a good idea to have a second series then after that the two winners would face off to see who the ultimate contender was.

The Contender

HBO or ESPN could pick up The Contender; Burnett says he wants more than "a TV deal."

Although Mark Burnett previously said that he expected to be announcing a new home for The Contender a few weeks ago, he says it’s taking a while because producers “are looking not just for a TV partner, but for a partner overall to help really re-launch the sport. This relationship will be as much about the overall opportunity of rebuilding boxing as it will be about a TV show. If we just wanted a TV deal, we’d be done already,” he tells Broadcasting and Cable.

So where might the show end up. ESPN has been rumored, and according to B&C, “industry insiders say ESPN or HBO would be the most likely new venue, though Spike TV, FX and even Fox (which decided last season’s The Next Great Champ was a chump) would also qualify as a prospective partner.”

And the show could return as early as next January. “Burnett says he expects, within weeks, to announce ‘big fight night’ televised events that would be a prelude to the series’ return, possibly by January 2006,” B&C says.
