Childhood comics

This is a ripoff of the topic on the other board about candybars from your childhood. How about comics that aren't made any more?

When I was little I read most of the main superhero fare, but to be honest my number one series was Archie. Loved that series lol. Since Archie is still around, that brings me to two of my favorite series that I haven't seen out since the '70s:

Werewolf By Night and Ghost Rider. I was nuts about these series, especially the Werewolf one. I remember I had this oversized comic version of WWBN vs Dracula, along with an audio tape version of that storyline. I used to have this little GR guy on a motorcycle as well, and I am very excited about the upcoming movie version of it.

What comics did you dig when you were little? And by all means, please post any info you have on WWBN or GR!

pp2 Ghost Rider is still out.

I haven't collected comics since I got married but everything i liked as a kid is still out there except the novelty stuff like Alf, He-Man (First Series), and GI Joe.

I need to get digging on that GR then, that was a cool series.

Do you remember Werewolf By Night though? Man, that was the best...all kinds of weird stuff there.

I wish I had of been more into comic books when I was a kid. I was too addicted to TV to have time to read comics lol. I did love Mad Magizine and the Spy vs Spy books though. I keep seeing some cool comics that I would like to read but I never end up buying any.

Yeah...they tried to revive it a couple of years ago but the artwork was really bad and the stories were a little generic so it tanked.

I've heard rumors it's coming out again soon though.

Best Comic of all time = Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters

You would like it if you can find a copy. It's an adult R rated comic so don't let any kids see it!

Actually my bro had a lot of comics and I got them handed down but I can't remember what a lot of them were. I remember the Fabulous 4 and Hulk, Captain America... hmmm I seem to be having a memory bubble of all the different comics I had that my bro use to own. I think at one point I had them all and was so proud I had all these comics lol. I don't even think I knew how to read yet, or was just learning.

I'll make a note of that, Spidey, if I ever come across it.

Everything was pretty much perfect in the original WWBN books. I'd love to be able to get ahold of those old ones. I need to start going to these conventions and go "browsing".

A love for comics is what drove me into reading bigger books and faster. By the time I was 13 I was plowing through paperbacks very quickly.

Comics are a great way to get kids into reading in my view.
