Changes to NBC Summer Schedule

Some of these shows I don't think will be real ratings winners.

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) NBC has done a little rearranging of its summer schedule, pushing one show back to fall and changing the premiere dates of a few other series.

The biggest change comes with "The Biggest Loser," the weight-loss series that was a surprise hit for the network last season. Originally set for an August debut, the show will now premiere Sept. 13, about a week before the official start of the 2005-06 TV season, with a 90-minute episode. It will shrink to an hour in subsequent weeks.

NBC Entertainment president Kevin Reilly hinted at the change during last week's upfronts, saying that "Loser" would provide a solid lead-in for the new comedy "My Name Is Earl" in the fall.

The network has also fiddled with the premiere dates for "Average Joe 4," "Meet Mister Mom" and "Tommy Lee Goes to College." "Average Joe," first slated to premiere Tuesday, June 28, will move up a week to June 21. It will air at 8 p.m. ET Tuesdays, followed by "I Want to Be a Hilton," starring Paris and Nicky's mom, Kathy, at 9.

"Meet Mister Mom," in which busy mothers are whisked away for a spa vacation while their husbands take over running the home, is moving from Wednesday to Tuesday. Accordingly the premiere moves up one day, from Aug. 3 to Aug. 2.

"Tommy Lee Goes to College" was originally set to debut after "The Biggest Loser" on Aug. 9. With "Loser" cleared out of that spot, NBC will wait a week and debut the series, which follows the Motley Crue drummer during a semester at the University of Nebraska, with back-to-back half-hour episodes on Aug. 16.

The beautiful thing is they can just keep "Biggest Loser" in the guide and no matter what show they run, they're right.

Seriously, where are the networks getting their programming executives from? And more importantly, why did they stop drug testing?
