From what i've heard about it I don't like the changes they made. For example, in the games the monsters are creatures from Hell but in the movie it's about a scientist messing with the human genome which creates the monsters.
Having the scene be close to a 1st person POV is interesting though.

well, I saw it, I did have to miss the first 15 minutes of the movie b/c of class... but my friend told me what I missed and it didn't sound essential.

I liked it a lot. It was exactly what I was expecting.
lots of blood and killing and some exploding monsters. pinky demon kicked ass.
some laughs, some great "jerk characters you know are gonna die" and good action.

the Rock was fun and so was the biggest of the jerk characters.
it's a great video game movie. my friend said he liked resident evil better, but honestly I was bored w/ resident evil and didn't give the movie a fair chance so it's hard for me to compare them.

basically it's a good popcorn guy type of movie.
don't take your girlies unless they actually like the game or at least like the Rock. b/c they'll be bored w/ it like some dumb bitch who was in there today was.
women, bah.
I give it a thumbs up but don't go in expecting a great movie.
Brandon will like it.
I'm gonna check it out a 2nd time when it comes to my theater.

I was skeptical of the first person view at first, which only lasts about 5 or so minutes, but I thought it worked really well. I almost felt like I was playing the game for those couple of minutes.
did I mention that pinky was kick ass, oh I did, well, I"m mentioning it again.
