Lords of Dogtown

Ok, so I was extremely primed to see this movie which comes out June the third I believe. I purchased the original documentary "Dogtown and the Z Boys" and was quite impressed, as well I received a free ticket to the film mentioned in the title. The documentary was well pieced, a nice story about the death of a 1950's surf spot known as Venice Beach, and the setting for te eventual birth of skateboarding, pools and such.

Anyways for those of you who may not have heard, as I've aforementioned its basically a film about some street kids who "revolutionized" skateboarding, Simon I can see you losing a nut right now. So I've caught some of the previews, and from what I've seen I'm about ninety-four percent confident they're going to fuck it up, i.e. Sum 41,Heath Ledger, and generally the whole vibe I've been getting since seeing the preview. Hopefully Johnny Knoxville can pull another "Walking Tall".

Here's hoping they don't, watch for a review.

It's an interesting story to me and from what I saw it looked like a cool movie, but I don't really want to see it if they take it and fuck it up. I hate when that happens, like Gangs of New York for example..

It didn't really hold my interest but looks like a well acted piece from the preview.

It would be great if you could post a detailed review Bike.

I would like to hear someone else's perspective on it before I consider plunking down $9 to see it.
