| Bad News Bears I don't know if any of you have heard of this but Billy Bob Thornton is starring in a remake of the old film the Bad News Bears. No I am not kidding! SO far the trailers on this make it look like a disaster in the making. Haven't we had enough movies about kids playing baseball and overcoming all the odds, etc? Anyway the poster was just released for this movie. See below. Thoughts or comments? | |||||||||||||||

| I've been aware of this one for awhile, and I am firmly in the "totally unnecessary remake" camp here. The first one was so lacking in political correctness and SO spot-on accurate to what little league and kids were like back then (I was the same age as those kids when the movie came out) that it could never be duplicated. I'm expecting a very watered-down version of the original, and one that won't come close to recapturing the magic of the first one. I'm also half expecting the Bears to win the final game in this one. | |||||||||||||||

| I agree. My feeling is they are trying to capitalize on the success of Bad Santa and make Billy Bob the poster boy for unpolitical correctness. I will not be seeing this one in the theater nor getting it on DVD. I expect it to bomb big time! | |||||||||||||||

| One can only hope unnecessary remakes like this (and Longest Yard) do indeed bomb, and discourage further attempts. At first it was old TV shows, now its movies from the 70s. Wonder what the next fad will be for making movies? By the way, if any of you "youngsters" have never seen the original Bad News Bears (or Longest Yard for that matter), you really need to see these films. Classic, wonderful movies. | |||||||||||||||
