Scott Madej Cast in X-Men 3?

Just listening to BBC 2 this morning! Scott Madej has been cast as a younger version of Charles Xavier, not as Gambit as Cinescape has reported. They also mentioned that he was cast possibly for a flashback sequence, but that it was unconfirmed what role a younger Xavier will have. I'm guess it is plot related? Sounds good to me.
We also received an e-mail (along with the picture below) on Friday from a scooper that said Madej has actually been cast as Gambit in the film, so we're not sure which one is true, or if either of them are true at all:
I can tell you that Gambit has been cast by a relatively unknown, well completely unknown actually! I scoured and can only confirm that he has done some stage work in Chicago and maybe a few lower budgeted independent films. The name is Scott Madej. He will be playing good ol' Remy. That's all i know. I am 99% sure on that tidbit, and it will be announced early next week, possibly on Monday.
As for playing a younger Xavier, if they are going to have Juggernaut in the movie, they may use flashbacks to show Xavier and Juggernaut when they were younger. The guy looks like a good fit for Gambit however.
I'll also mention that Gambit is my 2nd favorite comic book character ever (after Wolverine). I'm so glad he's gonna be in the next film
I saw a bit back they wanted to put Gambit in this one, and I'm all for that. He was one of my favorites.
One thing that somewhat distresses me about this movie (and I want it to rock, totally) is that Bryan Singer moved on to the Superman project and James Marsden went with him. Since they're going ahead with the Dark Phoenix story, not having Cyclops in the movie would be a mistake I think...and it would kind of suck if Cyclops is played by someone else if the character is in the movie.
There's enough promise for this to be as good as the first couple and continue the franchise in a strong manner...I just don't want this to be the Batman Forever of the series.

There are two different reports on who he is playing. Nothing is confirmed yet.
Also Marsden is still with X3, they were keen on re-signing him and according to Marvel Producer Avi Arad they have.
That's good news then. The last I had heard was there were bad feelings towards Marsden for jumping ship with Singer. Singer not doing it is a bit of a bummer, but it in no way means that the film can't still be great with a new eye running it. Sometimes change is for the better.

Yes I heard the same thing.
But then Marsden was talking to an interview with some magazine awhile back and said he called the producers when he read that and said "What are you doing?! I'm in!" He claims that those reports are false.
Reportedly his screen time will be similar to what he did in X2. Very little.
That's not necessarily a bad thing either, just so long as his character is there to anchor the storyline he's a part of. Besides, with so many characters to introduce in so little time, its inevitable that a backseat has to be taken from time to time by him or even Wolverine.

Yeah, I think it important that he be there as the Dark Phoenix storyline is dealt with in the next movie reportedly.
I am looking forward to seeing who they cast as Hank "The Beast" McCoy
