A Query Regarding Jeff Goldblum

I have in my head a scene, which I think contains Jeff Goldblum, but I can't remember for sure. He (Goldblum) is painting on a jetty, or dock, or something like that, while talking to another character, who may or may not be Matthew Broderick. That's all I have, and I'm sorry if it's too vague for you to help me with, but I'd love any insights at all!

Can you remember info on what was said?

I can't remember any movies with Goldblum and Broderick so if I know more of the dialog I could probably take a better shot at getting the name for you.

^^ I know that's what's confusing me.

Mouse I think you're referring to "The Freshman" which was in 1990 with Marlon Brando, Bruno Kirby, and Broderick

Edit: Found the movie poster using google if it helps.

He was painting next to Hugh Grant in Nine Months.

When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the country not enter the city. For this is the time of punishment in fullfillment of all that has been written. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. They will fall by the sword and be taken as prisoners to all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
...At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.

Yup, in fact he gets disgusted with the painting and throws it in the water.
