This is a discussion on Are British Films Foreign? within the Entertainment forums, part of the Entertainment Forums category; This is a serious question. Are British films foreign? What about Canadian?
Same thing applies if you are Canadian or ...
American films aren't foreign to me. More like 'normal', British ones are more foreign to me, lol. I don't notice the accents much in U.S. films but when British ones arise I find I notice, yet in real life its the complete opposite. Very weird. I'm English.
There's such a thing as 'Canadian' films?
More generally however, the U.S. is a country made up of foreigners.
I thought I remember a movie from Quebec, Canada being nominated for Best Foreign Film at the Oscars this year though? Or perhaps it was Best Foreign-Language Film.

I suppose it is correct for me to think of American films as "foreign", from a geographic veiwpoint, but from a cultural standpoint they are (obviously) the same language, virtually the same humour, so they don't seem foreign.
