Definitely going to see it. Ridley Scott's an amazing director. Say Pink, how did you manage to get to go on a trip to see this film for religion class? My religion classes were filled with field trips to churches and stuff like that.

Just saw this yesterday and it was really good. it was nice to see Jeremy Irons not play a bad guy for one and Liam Neeson, his part albeit short, his performance was up to par as usual and did not disappoint. My only gripe is that Orlando Bloom seems to choose the same genre of movie to do, some kind of historical period piece with a war. This was the second time he was a blacksmith - LOL. Other than that for going almost 2 1/2 hours, the movie's def. worth a look.

Thank you.

My wife has been after me to see this so we may check it out.

I am a big Liam Neeson fan also.

It isn't doing good at the Box office with the lowest sales to start ($20M) off the Summer season in 8 years. it also might have something to do with the start of the Sumer season starting 2 weeks early.

It looks like they might have to drop ticket sales if they want to continue to fill seats at threatres.

Here's the weekend box office totals for those who are interested. I went and looked it up after I read Kal's post as I wanted to see how everything did. This is from Box Office Mojo:

1. Kingdom of Heaven $ 20 Million
2. House of Wax $ 12.2 Million
3. The Hitchhiker's... $ 9.1 Million
4. Crash $ 9.1 Million
5. The Interpreter $ 7.5 Million
6. XXX: State of the... $ 5.4 Million
7. The Amityville Horror $ 3.2 Million
8. Sahara $ 3.1 Million
9. A Lot Like Love $ 3 Million
10. Fever Pitch $ 2 Million

Considering it looks like less and less people were interested in the movies this weekend, it did ok but it has to be a bit of a surprise to all invovlved that it didn't do better.

As I mentioned in a previous thread, it was the lowest Summer blockbuster open in 8 years. They did however start it 2 weeks earlier than usual.

Yes you make a good point.

Plus I think this type of epic flick has been done a lot lately with "Troy" and "Alexander", etc.

Besides the rising ticket prices I think the public might be gun shy to see this sort of film right away.

Maybe as it gets good word of mouth people will go see it but I am not too sure

I just realized it was this thread I said that in lol. Sorry bout that.

Ya, funny how the one that actually gets good reviews does less than expected in the box office. They have a lot of ground to cover though because it cost 150M to make.

While it may have been a slow start to the summer movie season, you gotta know that when Star Wars comes out, it's gonna make a sh*tload of money opening weekend and beyond.
