Marvel Comics Funding Their Own Stuff

There have been reports today that Marvel Comics is no longer seeking funding from major studios regarding their upcoming Super Hero films. They plan to provide their own finances to back up each movie. Upcoming films include Nick Fury and another Captain America film.

How does everyone think this will change the current crop of films heading our way?

I think you will see a lot more "true to the source" material appearing in the films as a lot of the creative changes done in films about comics are done by Holywood studios. Hopefully this will make for better movies and re-newed interest in the genre.

It can only be a positive, as when Spiderman was filmed by huge fans of the original character as opposed to producers after a fast buck (which was how Hulk came across).

Hulk was the only real big miss in my opinion. I mean fans talk about "true to the source" but Batman shouldn't look like he does. he should be like the Batman from the show lol.

This next Batman will be the closest match to the comics in terms of following the character description done to the T.

As to films, Punisher was bad except for the last sequence with Thomas Jane going on a rampage.

I loved both X-Men films and think the 3rd one might supass both of these.

Daredevil was good, Hulk was so-so, and Elektra was really bad.

I will not say my opinion on the Spiderman films as you all know my bias.

Didn't it seem like they just wanted to rush through Elektra?...I mean, out of nowhere here's The Hand and bang their dead..end of story.

I agree.

I love Jennifer Garner and think she's very talented but why she accepted this movie, I will never know.

They should have just left Daredevil for what it was and moved on.

Elektra reminded me of those cheesey tv shows with corny superhero crime fighters.

Yeah..It remeinded me of the old Flash tv show or Xena Warrior Princess...it didn't feel at all like it was EVER supposed to be a big movie.

I mean, when you are watching the X-Men or Spiderman movies (I know it's a little unfair to compare) they just feel like you are watching a "Big" movie, you know?
