Spider's Web - Movie News 04/25/05

Greetings to all from the Spider’s Web!

Behold the tidbits below and enter my web.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Denzel has Deja Vu
Denzel Washington has signed to do another movie with "Man on Fire" director Tony Scott. This time, Denzel will star as an FBI agent who has the ability to travel back in time. Once in the past he falls in love with a woman he knows will soon be murdered.

Denzel is also negioating a deal to star in Spike Lee's film "The Inside Man". Any word on plot details for this film were sketchy. He co-stars would be Jodie Foster and Clive Owen

Spider Sense Says: I think Denzel is a great actor but this sounds like a re-tread of half a dozen other time travel movies. Here's hoping he can make it into an interesting picture.

Will Ferrell Gets Lost

Will Ferrell has signed on to the new feature film adaption of the famous kids show "Land of the Lost" The original show's creators Sid and Marty Kroft will produce the new film.

Spider Sense Says: I was not a big fan of the tv show that used to air on Saturday mornings. I doubt I will be interested in this new movie, but I think it will do fairly well given Will Ferrell's popularity.

"King Conan: Crown of Iron" on hold

The planned sequel to the Conan films with HHH possibly replacing Arnold has been put on hold, possibly for good. John Milius the director was interviewed this weekend and stated that the WB has "put it in the deep deep freeze" so don't expect this movie anytime soon.

Spider Sense Says: I'm curious as to what cause them to change their minds?

All,

Superherohype.com is reporting that the reason "Crown of Iron" was put on hold is the Conan franchise has been given to director Robert Rodriguez of "Sin City" fame. He is trying to get Arnold to come back to do an "older" Conan but if not he will start looking for a new actor. HHH is no longer slated for this role.

I for one think this is a bold move by the movie studio and a move in producing a better film with Rodriguez at the helm. Hopefully he will cast a new Conan and tread some "un-used" ground in this segment of the series.

Rodriguez is a legend, and I haven't even seen Sin City, I know it's gonna be sick.
