Catch and Release
Director Kevin Smith is set to star, not direct, in a new film with Alias star Jennifer Garner. The plot consists of this:
The film follows a woman (Garner) dealing with the death of her husband along with his three guy friends. Smith will star as one of those friends, Sam, while Timothy Olyphant co-stars as another pal, Fritz, a movie director and who finds himself falling for his friend's widow. The film marks the directing debut of writer Susannah Grant who was nominated for an Oscar for ERIN BROCKOVICH. CATCH has been described by the trades as being a "romantic comedy" but may have more dramatic elements than the traditional Kate Hudson-type romantic comedy. Spider Sense Says: ummm....I'm not sure of this one. Definitely not my style

I am hearing that Mel Gibson is considering directing a movie about the life of John Paul II aka the Pope. Gibson sent out a film crew to Rome to film the mass of people there assembled at the Vatican.
Spider Sense Says: This film good be a great tribute to the Pope or an attempt to capitalize on the recent news stories regarding the Pope's passing. Time will tell.
