You ever thought about what else could be done to enhance the moviegoing experience? We already have surround sound and 3D. What else could we need? Would it be more enjoyable if the a hottie was dancing in a bikini on every side of the theatre? As great as that would be, we already have strip clubs. What if we had machine guns fire at anyone who went above a certain noise level? Again, that would be excellent but we don't want to go endorsing the whole "murder" thing. How bout if we could smell and even touch what's on the screen? Well, as crazy as that sounds, that is exactly what Sony is planning on doing. They've patented a device that would evoke a person's sense of smell, taste and even touch. I'm not sure how that would work but according to some folks who have a lot of "book learning" "…carefully directed ultrasound beams could evoke different sensations in people's brains, including tastes, smells and touch, and even moving images." On the one hand, that seems like a good idea. On the other hand, do I wanna smell Michael Chiklis' pits? Probably not. However, do I wanna smell Jessica Alba's…anything? Hell yeah!"
