Remaking Classic Movies

...never seems to end with a good movie, let alone a great one as the end product. It may recieve a lot of attention and money, but it's pointless really.

Movie makers would be better off basing their ideas on movies that went wrong, or not so popular ones which had good ideas or something in them. That's if they feel such a need to 'remake' or 'improve' a film.

Better yet though - get creative!

Can anyone name a remake that was better than the original? I'm wracking my brains but struggling to name one.

I can only think of crap ones like Lolita, Italian Job, Psycho, Get Carter, Planet of the Apes, Rollerball, Ladykillers.

Haven't seen the originals of Oceans Eleven or the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Were they better??

I know they're doing so many remakes as of late, leave the classics alone. Within the next 2 months you've got remakes of The Amytiville Horror, House of Wax, and The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (the original was a BBC serial)... Have some originality people!!
