Garfield 2? Nooooo!!!! Apr. 8, 2005

Noooooooooo!!!! Noooooooooo!!!!! OK, I feel better. Now on to the news: Fox has hired Tim Hill (MUPPETS IN SPACE, MAX KEEBLE'S BIG MOVE) to direct a sequel to last summer's GARFIELD: THE MOVIE. I repeat: NOOOOOOO!!!! The other day I actually happened to catch one of those old CBS "Garfield" specials they used to air and I forgot how much fun those used to be. I was really into Garfield when I was a little kid and looked forward to those specials with such excitement. I remember flipping through the TV Guide and seeing a little half-page ad and getting all excited and having my mom program the VCR for me. There aren't enough animated specials on the networks these days like there were. There used to be the "Garfield" specials and the "Charlie Brown" specials but now there's just "CSI" and "Cold Case." Anyway, I bring all this up to distract myself from the fact that they're planning a sequel to GARFIELD!!!!...

I enjoyed the first one, myself. I would catch this one on DVD.

When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the country not enter the city. For this is the time of punishment in fullfillment of all that has been written. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. They will fall by the sword and be taken as prisoners to all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
...At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.
Luke 21:20-28
