Final Desination 3D?

I'm actually looking forward to this movie. As much as I'm against the general idea of sequels and rehashes and studios seemingly cranking out retreads on the basis of money and not scripts, I dug both of the FINAL DESTINATION installments (read my reviews HERE and HERE), and considering that FINAL DESTINATION 3 is back in the hands of the men behind the original movie, James Wong and Glen Morgan (also of X-FILES and WILLARD fame), it was nice to hear that shooting on FD3 had commenced in Vancouver, Canada, with a scheduled 2006 release. The film stars Ryan Merriman (the dude who starred in the first 5 minutes of THE RING TWO) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (the girl who played "Young Evelyn" in THE RING TWO). Hopefully, the fact that THE RING TWO sucked won't be a bad omen to this film, which sounds neat (just don't bring Tony Todd's goofy character back...please!!!):

Six years after the events of FINAL DESTINATION, Wendy (Winstead), a high school senior, has a premonition of a fatal amusement park accident involving herself and all her friends. When the premonition proves true, those who survive the accident are forced to deal with the repercussions of escaping their fate. But fate is not so easily thwarted, and as Wendy and Kevin (Merriman) desperately try to interpret the clues that might save lives, one-by-one their friends meet fantastically gruesome ends.

Now while the IMDB still has the film's title down as FINAL DESTINATION 3-D, the press release mentioned nothing about it being in three dimensions, although that would certainly make things doubly interesting, were that to occur.

I don't know man...another one of these? I can't see that being too good, but I'll probably end up renting it anyway.

I didn't like the sequel but the original was OK.

The guy who wrote the article seems to think it might be the best of the 3 due to it being back in the hands of the two dudes who wrote the X Files....

Guess we have to wait and see.

I won't see it in the theater but might rent it too.
