George Lucas has voiced his intention to re-release the original Star Wars trilogy – in 3-D. But you can forget about the old red and blue glasses; of course, being George, he's come out in support of a new system of presenting the illusion of three dimensional images. Speaking from Sho-West convention in the US 9where he was joined by the illustrious company of James Cameron, Robert Rodriguez, Robert Zemekis, and by video link, Peter Jackson), Lucas explained. "It's really a beautiful system, and one of the reasons I'm promoting it today is I'm extremely anxious to reissue that old group of films I did so long ago in a galaxy far away… When you see some of this test footage, it's shockingly good, and you can see how people would want to go see it." And test footage is exactly what he proceeded to show the audience, with sequence from Episodes IV and II. No specifics on release dates yet, but Lucas has hinted at having Episode IV ready for its 30th Anniversary – which comes around in 2007. Rep Power: 7 ![]() | I'm not really a fan of this idea. I've supported and defended Lucas throughout the SEs and the underrated (underrated online, anyway) Prequels, but I really don't care to see Star Wars 3-D'd. | |
| When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the country not enter the city. For this is the time of punishment in fullfillment of all that has been written. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. They will fall by the sword and be taken as prisoners to all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. ...At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near. Luke 21:20-28 | ||
