I'm really hoping the Aviator gets best pic with Scorsese winning best director.
When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the country not enter the city. For this is the time of punishment in fullfillment of all that has been written. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. They will fall by the sword and be taken as prisoners to all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
...At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.
Luke 21:20-28
I am pretty sure they dont' say best "Actor" anymore. I believe it is best Male Actor and best Female actor. Actress went out with the 90's.
Most of those films are good I am sure but they seem a tad on the boring side. Great stories I am sure but too much story if ya ask me.Although, I am sure I will see them and think they were great.
Wow, just checked the site and was very surprised to see they still use actress. You don't see that being used anymore. They are all jsut actors now.
I'm really hoping the Aviator gets best pic with Scorsese winning best director.
While Scorsese deserves an Oscar I don;t think it should be for this film because Eastwood really puts him to shame with Million Dollar Baby. The Aviator is a good film but I think its the weakest of the nominations.
IMO I think Sideways has a good chance of picking up Best Picture because its the sort of Underdog they go for occasionally, but as long as Jamie Foxx gets Best Actor for Ray then I don't care because he puts in by far the best performance in Ray, by a mile.
Paul Giamatti from Sideways was expected to get nominated but he didn't. I was also Surprised to see Passion of the Christ was left off of best picture. Also was 911. I don't know what was so very predictable about it seeing how several expected nominations were left off that were expected to be in the running.

The reason the Passion was left out of Best Picture was because it was in a position where it could all ready be viewed by the public on television. I also think that Best Pic has to have the english language in it.
And it couldn't get a foreign language nom since it was filmed by an American for American audiences.

Well That doesn't seem right. I never heard anything about that, It did however get 3 other nominations for cinematography, makeup and original score.
Yeah, I know. I wish it were viable for the best pic nom too. It really was one of the best movies I saw in all of 2004.
