Sideways

I don't know if any of you will have seen this yet, but it's been getting all kinds of accolades in the film industry. I saw it in theatres the other day with a friend, and just loved it.

It stars Paul Giamatti and Thomas Haden Church as two middle-aged buddies who go on a road trip through California wine country, one week before Jack (Church) is set to be married.

I just thought it was beautifully written, and all of the acting was superb. It was also really, really, really funny at times.

Yeah, I love that guy from American Splendor.

I was going to go see it but my date canceled on me for a swine.

Paul Giamatti is the shit, but I thought American Splendor was pretty boring. Just the concept... really lost me after about a half hour.

I thought he did a wonderful job in American Splendor. Just all over the place.

You are right though, it wasn't exactly the best written piece of work.

Its got a lot of Oscar hype this film, the director has recieved a nomination for the Directors Guild Awards. Over the last fifty three years the DGA has predicted the winner of the SAGs 49 times so its a pretty prestigious nomination. I'll try catch it when it comes out over the pond.

P.S Scorcese and Eastwood will duke it out for the Oscar IMO

Yo finially saw this film ..................................didn't like it

I can remember having an argument with IDA over whether Giamatti should get the Oscar nomination, I'm pretty glad he didn;t because although he put in a good show, the rest of the film doesn't accentuate his performance enough to be Oscar worthy.

Again I saw it on a plane and here where some funny bits in it, such as the stuff with the tree and the car and stealing the dudes wallet but I expected it to be much better.
