Comes out tomorrow on DVD. I did, in fact, see this back in March at the theater. It freaked the hell out of me. I plan to rent it tomorrow, even though I didn't really like it the first time around. It's not that it was a bad movie, it just gave me nightmares, for a week after seeing it. I don't even know why I want to see it again. It's like when you see a car crash on the highway, you don't want to look but you just can't help yourself.
I heard that this remake is way better than the original, though.
Meh, I'm not in a rush to get it. I liked it, but it can NOT compare to Romero's original.
When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the country not enter the city. For this is the time of punishment in fullfillment of all that has been written. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. They will fall by the sword and be taken as prisoners to all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
...At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.
Luke 21:20-28
I watched the original tonight and didn't really care for it. The zombies were laughable; I guess it was scary by 70's standards but it's pretty weak when you compare it to the remake.
Saw it and it freaked me out. For some reason I can watch horror movies with psycho killers, monsters, demons, etc. But when it comes to zombies, I get nightmares.
