Super Size Me

I just watched this movie and I don't want to ever touch fast food again. It's amazing that the guy had so many health problems and gained 25 lbs from eating nothing but McDonald's for 30 days.

One of the people interviewed compared eating fast food to smoking, by suggesting the law place restrictions on it. He said there's no difference between the two. Of course, there is a difference; smoking hurts not only the smoker but everyone else who's nearby through second hand smoke. Chowing down on a few burgers isn't hurting anyone else.

Still, this movie didn't do the fast food industry any favors. McDonalds already eliminated the "super size" options from their menu. And as more people see this film it might scare off a few more.

The doctors wanted this guy to stop the experiment after 21 days; I didn't think he'd be able to finish it, he was in that bad of shape. Somehow he did finish, but you could really see the difference in his appearence and mood.

Has anyone else seen this movie yet? If so, thoughts?

Miakal, I can appreciate the sarcasm in your post, but do you really think the fast food regulation/litigation is a partisan issue?

No.

It's just that in the last year or so we've been overdosed (SUPERSIZED, if you will) on political films that it's hard to imagine that this isn't one.

Quite a fair point Miakal

As for Super Size Me, I really wont to see this film but ever time I go to watch I just think, hey asshole, I know that eating nothing but McDonalds for 30 days is gonna fuck you up. If you eat nothing but Chocolate for 30 days its gonna fuck you bad too.

The experiment didn't really prove anything because I know that eating fatty burgers 30 days on end, 3 times a day is bad for me

A really good experiment would be one person only eating McDonalds, one person only eating Burger King and one person eating KFC and see what is worse for you...

That would have made interesting viewing.

It is all smoke mirrors and bullshit. Anyone who eats crap and doesn't look after himself is going to have problems.

There is another guy who also did the same thing he did but worked out regulary and took care of himself and stayed healthy and didn't gain weight.

Even one of the guys he interviewed for the documentry ate over 19,000 big macs and he hasn't had one health problem or weight gain. So you might have a point.
