Huge Freddy vs. Jason News; Will Evil Dead's Ash Be Involved?

After the success of Freddy vs. Jason and Alien vs. Predator, more rumors for a new horror matchup are in the works.

Or, more like old rumors have resurfaced.

The Hollywood Reporter states that New Line has contacted Sam Raimi, who owns the rights to the Evil Dead series, about arranging Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash. The movie would see Freddy and Jason battle the cynical anti-hero, played by Bruce Campbell.

If a deal is not made to bring Ash into the fold, New Line will still pursue an FvsJ sequel, possibly by introducing a new character.

I certainly hope this happens. I've been hoping for this to happen since I heard the rumors after the success of FvJ.

I'm not sure how many Americans (or anyicans) know who Ash is. He doesn't have huge name value like Freddy, Jason, Aliens, or The Prediator do.

If they actually put him in this movie I bet he isn't in the title.

And if it is, it will be something else all together so people who don't know who he is can get a chance to.
