Pretty much every time a good movie come out they have to make a sequel but the sequel hardly as good as tha first one and i think that what will happen in this movie the Ring 2 and plus what else do they need to put in tha movie that they didn't have in the first one

It's supposed to have more backstory. Besides, the Japanese Ringu series has 2 or 3 sequels. There's room.

I wouldn't get too hyped right now either way anyway. It won't be out til mid to late 2005 now. :?

Ringu had three incarnations in total, there was Ring, Ring 2, and Ring 0 (prequel).

I hated the hollywood remake, it stunk compared to the jap originals :S

We had to watch both of them for part of a film class I did last semester (God bless waste of time electives), and I found them almost identical. Because they're almost identical.

I personally didn't care for the Japanese original. The deaths didn't even look freaky. The remake, however, made the deaths uber creepy.

Invictus

Yeah The Japanese Ring and the Hollywood Ring are practically the same film with extra pieces of computer trickery such as the tv thing.

I prefer the Hollywood to the original. The US Ring was the first flick in ages which actually creeped me out.

And I love Naomi Watts.

The Japanese one looks so much freakier. The Ring didnt scare me at all, I havent seen Ringu but the clips I've seen, it looks far better.
