I been wating for this to come out forever! Who do you side with? I for one hope Predator kicks royal ass. I am not to sure about the plot because it involves a group of people caught in the middle who are no body special, but as long as they stay out of the way of the battles it will be great.
I can't wait for this flick! I love both the series, but I'm rooting for the Predator in this one. Camoflauge, advanced technology...they can't lose to those scrawny Aliens! ;)

I just got back from seeing this. It kicked ASS. Even received applause at the end.

Here ya go, genius. This is what I posted at the Friday the 13th forum. I've removed spoilers. I'm afraid it's not too in depth because I'm afraid I would go into too much and spoil it:
Ladies and Gentlemen, I just got back from a midnight screening:
And the film received APPLAUSE. The crowd loved it, I loved it, it was fricken awesome. Everyone knew what they were going into when they went in. Not a character study, rather a film that focused on Predators and Aliens kicking the royal shit out of each other!
The rating did not hurt the film. There is a chestbursting scene WITH blood. It is quick and it cuts away, but you do see it come through . The humans killed and hung are not skinned with good reason: the Preds simply didn't have time. They were on a mission---hunt the Aliens .
As far as characters though, the only ones worth mentioning are Lex and Bishop. Lance Henrikson is great as usual, and the girl that plays Lex is great. I actually thought her character was more fleshed out than the others and it made her a very likeable person.
The battles are unbelievable. I'll just say that there's Predator and Alien gore abound. Almost every interaction received applause.
It was great seeing the flick tonight. The theater was full of fan boys who didn't care about the movie rating. They just wanted to see their favorite monsters battle it out. And were we ever pleased!

Anyways, I've been reading around and it hasn't been getting such glowing reviews as mine. My advice would be to do what those people didn't: Go in and watch it as a fun popcorn flick and nothing else. It achieves what it was meant to achieve---showing off stylistic Alien and Predator fights.

I'm sorry but when I saw this everyone was booing not cheering. What a huge disapointment this was to both series'. It was a terrible movie, you say it wasn't a character study yet the whole first half of the movie was explaining all of the characters. Even those who had no point and died off very quickly anyway.
You liked the Alien vs Preditor battle? Well I may have liked it as well but since the action was so cut up and it was pitch black I couldn't even tell what the heck was going on.
In closing this was shit, the movie and director both share in that aspect of shit. P Anderson is known for destroying a movie at a time with his previous work but with this film he destroyed 2 movies at once.
